Portage Place Therapeutic Youth Home
Offering Youth a Future
Portage Place is a co-ed therapeutic youth home providing treatment for emotionally disturbed adolescents ages 10-18. Up to six teens receive individual, group, and family counseling to address problem behaviors. A trained staff creates a structured therapeutic environment designed to reeducate youth in areas of interpersonal and social behavior. Treatment goals are individualized, and once these goals are attained, youth may return home or transition to a less restrictive environment.

Outcome Data
* 100% of residents exhibited decreases in oppositional behavior and improved social interactions.
* 88% of residents were enrolled in an educational program and 100% maintained or increased the number of classes they were passing.
* 78% of positively discharged residents were able to remain in a less restrictive community setting.
