POSITION: Direct Care Youth Care Workers for the Missouri River and Evergreen Youth and Shelter Home for Girls.
OPENING DATE: Immediately.
CLOSING DATE: On-going.
START DATE: When applicants are hired.
SALARY: Beginning wage of up $9.85/hr., increasing to $10.06/hr. upon successfully completing the ninety (90) probationary period. Individuals will also be eligible for vacation leave and sick-time upon satisfactorily completing the aforementioned probationary period, and to participate in the retirement program after one (1) year of employment. Health insurance will be available after a 60 day waiting period.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Weekend positions at both homes scheduled to work (32) thirty-two hours per week on Friday at 4:00 p.m. until Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and return Sunday night at midnight and work until 4:00 p.m. Sunday (or some variation of a night shift/negotiable) and a 40 hour per week position on Sunday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until midnight. Part-time and on-call positions are also available.

DUTIES: Under supervision of the Group Homes Coordinator is responsible for providing for the care, guidance, and supervision of up to 8 troubled adolescents within prescribed program policies. Specific duties include assigning, supervising and monitoring household chores; supervising and chaperoning recreational activities; providing personal/crisis related counseling and social skills training; preparing nutritious and well balanced meals; attending staff meetings and training sessions; maintaining daily logs of events and residents’ behaviors; implementing and monitoring individual treatment plans of youth; maintaining discipline; and resolving milieu disruption issues.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Prior experience working with troubled, delinquent, and or severely emotionally disturbed youth. A working knowledge of adolescent behavior and needs. Ability to communicate and relate with youth of divergent backgrounds, staff, social service agencies, and the community at large; to organize one's time efficiently and wisely; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Demonstrated problem solving skills. A High School Degree or its equivalent is required, and some pertinent post high school education is preferred but not mandatory.

Any combination of education and relevant/ reasonable experience.
